Introduction

Welcome to Mechanics, the cornerstone of engineering analysis and design. This course explores the physics of forces and motion, divided into two critical areas. First, in Statics, we will study objects in equilibrium, learning how to analyze forces, moments, and structures to ensure they remain stable and stationary. Next, in Dynamics, we will investigate the causes and characteristics of motion, applying Newton's laws to understand how forces create acceleration and how to predict the path of moving objects. A deep understanding of mechanics is fundamental to designing everything from bridges and buildings to vehicles and machines.
